2001 (Denver): Played in 10 games with four starting assignments concluded rookie season with eight pass receptions for 84 yards (10.5-yard average) and made his mark on the kickoff return team with impressive 26.6-yard average on 14 returns for 372 yards returned a kickoff 29 yards and posted three special teams tackles in first NFL action vs. N.Y. Giants (Sept. 10) saw 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown vs. Arizona (Sept. 23) called back due to penalty, but responded with two returns for 26.5-yard average averaged 33 yards on five kickoffs (165 yards) vs. Baltimore (Sept. 30) and caught his first NFL pass, for 17 yards suffered sprained right ankle in first quarter at Kansas City (Oct. 7) spent next six weeks on inactive list while recuperating first NFL start at Miami (Dec. 2) caught two passes vs. Seattle (Dec. 9) and gained 27 yards on double reverse in first rushing attempt two catches for 30 yards at Kansas City (Dec. 16) and one pass reception for seven yards and two kickoff returns for 44 yards vs. Oakland (Dec. 30).
College/Personal: Former walk-on rose to first-team all-Big Ten Conference honors at Iowa and two-time academic all-conference selection in 44 games (21 starts) for the Hawkeyes became the schools all-time receptions leader with 157 catches and finished fourth in career receiving yardage with 1,974 yards his 82 receptions as a senior set school single-season record and led Big Ten conference his 1,010 yards in 1999 ranked second in school history football, wrestling, and track standout at Hinsdale (Ill.) South High School owns degree in marketing from Iowa married the former Lisa Cleppe during the past off-season...born Dec. 23, 1977 in Hinsdale.
